Biography
Xarovan Eskandari is an Iranian film director, producer, and digital artist passionate about storytelling. His fascination with the craft of filmmaking started when he was a little boy and witnessed his father using a super-8 splicer to edit family movies.
“The sound of the film splicer as my father cut the film, the pleasure of joining film strips with tape and then watching the result, had such a mesmerizing effect on me that I was sure I wanted to continue doing it for the rest of my life.”
As an intern at a relative’s film production company, Xarovan got his start in the film business. From there, he edited more than 500 episodes of documentaries and television shows while working for several companies in Tehran.
Xarovan’s creativity and technical skills led him to Dubai, where he quickly rose from graphic designer to producer and creative director at GEM TV. In 2016, he relocated to Istanbul, Turkey, where he was appointed head of the post-production and supervising producer for TV shows and movies.
His reputation as a trusted administrator was widely recognized during his tenure at GEM TV, where he worked for nearly a decade under the late founder, Saeed Karimian.
Xarovan’s film and digital art expertise led him to found Persis Film Company in Istanbul in 2018, focusing on film/series production and post-production, visual effects, and motion design.
